Over a 30 year period, it is expected that the investment in the construction of the high-speed network will, in accumulative terms, create:

  • 56,000 permanent jobs
  • An increase in private investment of 126 billion euros
  • Growth in GDP of 121 billion euros
  • An increase in tax income for the Portuguese state of 64 billion euros

The high-speed project will also generate positive effects in all regions: strengthening geographical integration and driving an increase in the competitiveness of Portuguese cities while also improving cohesion and regional development.
